I’m On A Budget

Often times wedding vendors hear the phrase, “I’m on a tight budget.” It’s probably one of the most popular phrases we hear. The truth is, we understand as we too are on a tight budget. The purpose of this blog is to give you some information that would make your wedding planning a little easier.

First and foremost, it’s important that you identify your budget. The term budget is defined as – an estimate of income and expenditure for a set period of time.
No matter who you are, if you’re getting married you will have a budget. The key is to know what your budget is. Hiring a great wedding planner can help customize your budget to meet your overall objective.

Now keep in mind that since you are on a budget, there may be items that may not fit your budget. This is when you decide what’s more important. For example, a bride you could spend $5,000 on a gorgeous wedding gown, $1,500 on an amazing cake but have nothing left for photography.  What eventually happens is you then contact a photographer asking for photo and video with a $500 budget in mind. This is why a wedding planner is key. From their experience they will be able to help you decide on how to manage the budget. You’d hate to have all these amazing items and hire a random amateur you see on Facebook who ruins your wedding photos. Think about what you’ve spent, you will want a professional.

Something to consider, the top name wedding planners who plan million dollar weddings were all given a budget. Their clients just had a larger defined budget. When you’re ready to connect with vendors please give them a realistic idea of the budget you’re working with. There’s nothing wrong with saying, My budget for my floral design is between $2000 and $3000. At least it gives your designer an idea of what they can do for you.  It’s ok to have expensive taste but it’s better to have the budget to afford it. Good luck with your wedding planning and don’t forget to connect with a wedding planner. If they are good, they will be able to save you more than what you are paying them.
